I had a great time giving a book talk & signing at the Smithsonian Institution National Portrait Gallery in Washington, DC on June 15.  Before my event, two interns, Jillian (top photo & in the background of the top photo) and Tess gave me a private tour of the Gallery. As part of my research, I had visited in 2007 to view the bust of SBA & oil paintings of ECS & Lucretia Mott, plus representations of other key characters in my book, but hadn’t had time to explore the Gallery.  My tour was an eye-opener, so much so that we returned to the Gallery the next day before heading home.
