Sophie

Sophie turned 9 yesterday!!!  The day before I did an assembly for the three fourth grade classes, including Sophie’s at p.s. 334. This morning I drove to Randall’s Island in New York City to cheer her on in the 5k run, the culminating activity for the Girls on the Run program at her school.  She ran a great race with her Daddy, my oldest son, Jonathan.  Her mother ran as a buddy with another girl.

There were girls from all over the city, including a group from the Harriet Tubman School (what a great name for a school) and girls from a family homeless shelter.  Very cool event!!!  (Those of you who have been following my “Sophie/ Grammy Day” adventures–can you believe–she’s 9 already!
