More Namesakes for Elizabeth and Susan

It has been a wonderful but busy month what with the publication on May 10th of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony: A Friendship That Changed the World.  We had a wonderful book party that one person said was “joyous” and that it was!  Last night I serendipitously discovered two more items for the list of “Namesakes” in my book–navy transports ships!!  The USS Elizabeth C. Stanton received 5 battle stars for World War II service. The USS Susan B. Anthony received 4 battle stars.  The SBA hit a mine and sank on June 7, 1944, but set a record for the largest rescue of people without a loss of life–2,689!  The ECS was scrapped in 1967. There’s a photograph of the ECS on the book Facebook page at http://on.fb.me/flGdOa
