One of the life lessons I’ve learned from the many strong women I’ve written & spoken about is–embrace a cause bigger than yourself! Here is how Anna Howard Shaw– orator, physician, minister, suffragist, co-worker & close friend of Susan B. Anthony–said it: “Nothing bigger can come to a human being than to love a great cause more than life itself.” That quote is on the base of this statue of her in Big Rapids, Michigan. Once, when I was in Michigan to give a speech, I borrowed a car & drove a 7-hour round trip to visit and photograph the statue which is located near the Big Rapids Library.
