Your time’s about up

Having watched the moderators of the presidential & v-p debates struggle to maintain the speaking time limits, I reread the section in my book where I described how Susan B. Anthony moderated loquacious speakers: “First she said, ‘Your time’s about up, my dear.’ Next it was, ‘I guess you’ll have to stop now; it’s more than ten minutes.’ Then she tugged on the speakers’ skirt; finally, she would rise and stand beside the speaker, an action that inevitably got results.”
