Spies! Women in the Civil War

Last night I got word that the second edition of my book, “Spies! Women in the Civil War” is now available as an ebook (with an orange cover that I love!). I did my research in the early 90s, traveling to various sites, including the grave of my favorite spy Elizabeth Van Lew who operated a spy ring in Richmond, Virginia. Hearing about her death (she died a pauper) in 1900, admirers in Boston shipped a huge hunk of rugged stone to mark her grave. A bronze plaque fastened to the grayish-beige and rose-colored boulder reads: “She risked everything that is dear to man–friends, fortune, comfort, health, life itself–all for the one absorbing desire of her heart, that slavery might be abolished and the Union preserved.  Here’s a link http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ANYQ6HO
