“Margaret Mead Green” is located beside the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, where the famous cultural anthropologist, spent much of her career. (It’s also near my granddaughter’s elementary school.)
An astute observer of cultures, Mead had this to say about guns and violence in 1972: “No country that permits firearms to be widely and randomly distributed among its population . . . can expect to escape violence, and a great deal of violence.”
